Hey There, I'm Ashley!
I fundamentally believe that connection is how we heal.
When you strip away all the clinical jargon, therapy is really just two humans sitting in a room (or on a screen), trying to make sense of this deeply complicated, beautifully messy experience of being alive.
If you’re looking for a sterile clinic where a blank-faced expert analyzes you and tells you how to "fix" your life, we probably won't be a great fit. But if you're looking for a space that holds all of who you are and where laughter, curiosity, and a little humor belong right alongside the heavy stuff—then you’re in the right place.
I approach every session with warmth and authenticity because I know this work is best when it’s collaborative. My role isn't to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you. I want to create a safe, fiercely non-judgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are today; messy thoughts, contradictory feelings, exhaustion, and all. While the healing journey is hard work, I refuse to believe it has to be rigid or joyless. Playfulness and moments of genuine, authentic connection are some of the most powerful tools for growth we have.
Who I Work With
I specialize in working with adult individuals, couples, and families by providing person-centered, DBT and narrative therapy. But I am passionate about tailoring my approach to you and what you’re hoping to get from therapy. I also specialize in supporting high-achieving folks who are navigating the heavy burdens of perfectionism, religious trauma, and anxiety. If it feels like you are carrying the weight of the world while pretending everything is fine, I see you. This is a dedicated space to finally set that weight down.
When working with couples and families, I focus on slowing things down and listening. We look at the emotional patterns playing out beneath the surface and explore how your pasts and patterns are showing up in your present. The goal isn’t to decide who is “right” but to explore what parts of you are having trouble connecting with your loved one, and create a roadmap back to each other so you can reconnect in a way that feels secure and authentic.
My Commitment to Accessibility
I firmly believe that mental health care needs to be accessible, period. I am fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and am deeply passionate about bridging the gap in mental health services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. I am equally committed to advocating for the reduction of barriers to care for folks across all socioeconomic backgrounds. Therapy shouldn't be a luxury, and you shouldn't have to fight to be heard or understood in your own language.
The Official Background
While my approach is highly relational and conversational, it is grounded in evidence-based training. I hold a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) in the state of Texas.
Because I am an Associate fully committed to continuing my clinical growth, I practice under the professional supervision of Dr. Bernadette H. Solórzano.
If you’re ready to explore what’s going on beneath the surface, without any fear of judgment, I would be so honored to do that work with you.
